Tul. popup.stage_title Скринінг вихідного матеріалу Triticum aestivum L. як стійкість щодо Tilletia caries (DC.) Tul. Head Demydov Oleksandr A., д.с.-г.н. Registration Date 04-12-2025 Organization Myronivsky Wheat Institute named after VM Crafts of the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences of Ukraine popup.description1 The purpose of the project is to dentify the germplasm resistant to Tilletia caries (DC.) Tul. and to involve them in breeding process as sources of resistance against the pathogen. Global climate changes, which are observed in Ukraine and the world, caused an increase in the impact of abiotic and biotic stress factors on the plant organism. Modern breeding using an artificial background can significantly reduce the terms for selecting and evaluating varieties and is successfully used by breeders worldwide. Successful creation of high-yielding wheat genotypes is possible only if there is a source material with a set of valuable agronomic traits. The study of the performance of these traits in collection samples and varieties in the field on the artificial background of Tilletia caries (DC.) Tul provides valuable information about their adaptability, and among hybrids the possibility to identify promising genotypes. At the same time, an equally important stage in the study of source material is information on polymorphism of resistance genes. popup.description2 Object of the research: winter bread wheat, variety, breeding, common bunt pathogen. The purpose of the work was to identify germplasm resistant to Tilletia caries (DC.) Tul. with their involvement in breeding process as sources of resistance to the pathogen. Research methods: laboratory (macroscopic or visual for determination of resistance), field (phenological, visual, biometric); statistical (processing of experimental data). Sources of resistance were identified among 114 collection samples of winter wheat on artificial infectious background of the pathogen T. caries. During five years of the research, in the conditions of the institution the effectiveness of resistance genes against the pathogen T. caries was confirmed in the lines Ferrugineum 124-88 (Bt20, Bt21), Sel. M. 65-3157 (Bt9), Sel. M. 66-23 (Bt10, Bt11), Lutescens 6028 (Bt12, Bt13), Erythrospermum 5221 (Bt14), Ferrugineum 220/85 (Bt15, Bt16), Erythrospermum 4318/88 (Bt17), Erythrospermum 6089 (Bt18, Bt19). In 2025, on the infectious background of T. caries in the competitive test, four new genotypes were identified as immune, namely, Erythrospermum 60960, Erythrospermum 61063, Erythrospermum 61064, and Leucurum 61174. The identified sources of resistance against T. caries Rada (SVK), Famulus (DEU), SHARK / F4.105W21 (USA), Reya (UKR), Ekspromt (UKR), Kolumbiia (UKR), Smuhlianka (UKR), OK 941611 (USA), Charmary (USA) will be used in further breeding work.
