Information × Registration Number 0225U004470, (0121U100487) , R & D reports Title Creation of special collections of spring barley in different directions of use in the south-eastern part of the Steppe of Ukraine popup.stage_title Створення спеціальних колекцій ячменю ярого за різними напрямками використання в умовах південно-східної частини Степу України Head Vyskub Roman S., Registration Date 09-12-2025 Organization Donetsk state agricultural science station of the National academy of agrarian sciences of Ukraine popup.description1 To form special collections of the gene pool of spring barley in the conditions of the south-eastern part of the Steppe of Ukraine. popup.description2 According to the results of studying the collection of common spring barley during 2022-2025, 29 samples were identified according to certain economically valuable characteristics or their complex: a shortened "seedling-reaching" period in the varieties Avers (UKR), Donetsky 12 (UKR), Donetsky 14 (UKR), Donetsky 15 (UKR), Adapt (UKR), Sozonivskyi (UKR) - 76-77 days; short-stem in the varieties Pokolinnia (UKR), Natair (UKR), Galichanyn (UKR) - 61.7-64.3 cm; Disease resistance: highly resistant samples of common spring barley to the manifestation of reticulate helminthiasis (score 8) – Avatar (UKR), Avgur (UKR), Voyevoda (UKR), General (UKR), GK Bunchuk (UKR), Image (UKR), Marion (UKR), Nezlamny (UKR), Pokolinnia (UKR), Shubin (UKR); 2 standards of susceptibility of samples to reticulate helminthiasis were identified (resistance at the level of 3 points): Svyatogor and Shedevr; productive tillering (1.7-1.8): Shubin (UKR), Graal (UKR), Khors (UKR), MIP Myrny (UKR); ear length (7.3-7.7 cm) in the varieties Doridny (UKR), Adapt (UKR); grain size of the ear (22.7-24.8 pcs., NIP05 – 3.6 pcs.) in the varieties Galichanyn (UKR), Vakula (UKR), Master (RUS); grain mass per ear (1.1 g, NIP05 – 0.18 g) in the varieties Galichanyn (UKR), Master (RUS); coarse grain size (52.0-56.8 g, NIP05 – 4.24 g) in the varieties Skhidny (UKR), Sozonivsky (UKR), Svyatovit (UKR), Kryazh (UKR), Samorodok (UKR), Donetsky 12 (UKR), Wilma (AUS); yield (584.5-588.6 g/m2, NIP05 – 198.7 g/m2) in the varieties Shubin (UKR), Samorodok (UKR). As of November 1, 2025, a collection of common spring barley has been formed with a volume of 78 samples, of which 67 samples are Ukrainian selection, 66 samples are varieties, and 12 are breeding lines. Computer versions of 1 passport (78 samples), 1 introductory (71 samples) databases have been created and are being maintained, as well as a database for ecological study of collection material (75 samples) based on phenology, disease resistance, and productivity.
