This will increase the efficiency of growing miscanthus and millet, increase the yield of biofuels and energy per unit area, reduce material and technical costs for biomass production and reduce the harmful impact on the environment. popup.description2 A systematic analysis of global and domestic literature on the methodology for assessing the energy potential of plants was conducted. The high efficiency of optimized mineral nutrition systems for increasing the yield and energy potential of giant miscanthus and switchgrass has been established. In the zone of sufficient moisture (UL DSS), the yield of dry miscanthus biomass increased from 14.0 to 28.1 t/ha, and energy yield increased from 270 to 540 GJ/ha, while increasing fertilizer doses above the optimal level did not result in a significant increase, indicating that the mineral nutrition saturation level had been reached. In the Central Forest-Steppe (BC DSS), the R₂₀₀–₃₀₀K₂₄₀–₃₆₀ + N₆₀ fertilization system ensured a plant height of 227 cm, dry biomass yield of 26.9 t/ha, and energy yield of 488.8 GJ/ha, which exceeded the control by more than 37% and confirmed the effectiveness of moderate fertilizer doses. In the unstable moisture zone of the Western Forest-Steppe (Y DSS), high effectiveness of foliar feeding with Active-Harvest-Macro at a dose of 4 l/ha in the BBCH 29 phase was established: miscanthus yield increased from 17.7 to 29.0 t/ha, and energy yield increased from 338.6 to 556.1 GJ/ha (an increase of ≈ 60%). For switchgrass, the optimal fertilization system was determined to be the application of N₃₀P₃₀K₃₀ before emergence, which increased plant height to 169 cm, dry biomass yield to 14.6 t/ha, and energy yield to increase from 750.7 to 1191.4 GJ/ha, demonstrating the highest efficiency of nutrient use.
