Samples (substrates) made of BT6 and BT1 titanium alloys were prepared, and TiO2 layers were formed on these substrates using a neodymium laser under various irradiation regimes (doses). It was ascertained that TiO2 layers of different thicknesses can be produced by direct action (oxidation) of pulsed laser radiation with λ = 1064 nm, pulse duration τ = 6 ns, and intensity I = 52.8 MW/cm2 on the metallic titanium surface. It was shown that under such conditions, by varying the exposure time achieved through multiple overlapping passes of the laser beam, films with thicknesses of several hundred nanometers can be formed. Using Raman spectroscopy and X-ray diffraction analysis, it was found that the TiO2 films obtained in this way contain several polymorphic phases of titanium oxide, with anatase and rutile being the dominant ones. It was demonstrated that the volume fractions of anatase and rutile can be controlled by adjusting the laser irradiation dose. It was ascertained that the adhesion of the laser-formed TiO2 films depends on the film thickness, i.e., on the exposure time. Scratch testing showed that adhesion significantly decreases with increasing film thickness. Product Description popup.authors Volodymyr B. Lozinskyi popup.nrat_date 2025-12-11 Close
