Within the project, a monitoring network was formed, taking into account the spatial distribution of potential pollution sources, which served as the basis for assessing the level of technogenic pressure on soil systems. An in-depth analysis of the physicochemical properties of soils was conducted, and the regularities of the formation of the geochemical state of urban soils were identified depending on the natural features of the territory and the influence of industrial facilities. The application of an integral approach and modern physicochemical analysis methods made it possible to determine qualitative and quantitative pollution indicators and to identify the ecological specifics of the edaphotopes of the city of Cherkasy. At the methodological level, the use of GIS technologies as a tool for spatiotemporal modelling of pollutant migration was substantiated. Geo-information models of the spread of toxic elements in the soil environment were created and tested, enabling the identification of the most vulnerable areas and forecasting possible pathways of further transformation of the geochemical situation. Special attention was paid to quantum-chemical modelling of the mechanisms of interaction between pollutants and soil components. The obtained results made it possible to assess the reactivity of contaminants, their sorption behaviour, and potential toxicity, which is crucial for determining environmental and public health risks. The implementation of these principles contributed to the development of a scientifically grounded assessment of the geochemical status of the city’s soil cover, the determination of its degradation level, and the formulation of recommendations for improving the environmenta Product Description popup.authors OLENA KHOMENKO popup.nrat_date 2025-12-16 Close
