Purpose: to measure the dose rate of external gamma radiation, concentration indoor radon in buildings and natural radionuclides in environmental objects. Methods: analytical, radiometric, passive track radiometry. Results: 197 measurements of equilibrium equivalent concentration (EEC) of indoor radon-222 of newly constructed and existing buildings (including offices and non-residential premises) were carried out (12 enterprises, 19 facilities). It was found that 4 office premises exceeded the hygienic standard of 50 Bq/m3 for newly constructed buildings by more than 3 times; in one non-residential premises (basement) exceeded the standard of 100 Bq/m3 for existing buildings by 6 times; no exceedances of the hygienic standard were recorded in residential premises. In two stages, 278 measurements of EEC of indoor radon-222 in public buildings were carried out in 76 preschool, school and medical institutions (1 enterprise, 81 facilities). The standard of 50 Bq/m3 was found to be exceeded in 66.4 % (first stage) and 85 % (second stage) of the surveyed premises. 4318 measurements of exposure dose rate (EDR) of external gamma radiation in buildings (8 enterprises, 15 facilities) were carried out. It was found that the value of EDR at all studied facilities is less than the hygienic standard of 30 µR/h. The specific activity of radium-226, thorium-232, potassium-40 was measured in samples of construction materials and raw materials from one enterprise (1 facility), 8 samples per year for 7 years (56 samples in total). It was found that all the studied construction raw materials belong to Class I in terms of radiation factor and can be used for all types of construction without restrictions. A peer-reviewed content (critique and commentary) of the Technological Regulations and Radiation Safety Rules ‘Arrangement and Operation of a Radon Laboratory, Conduct of Radon Procedures...’ was provided.
