Lignocellulosic feedstock was subjected to preparatory and chemical treatment using aqueous, alkaline, and low-temperature deep eutectic solvent systems, which enabled the production of fibrous materials with a reduced lignin content (~3 wt.%) and stable morphology. Methods for controlling the surface energy of the fillers through silane modification were established, resulting in an increase in the water contact angle to 133–140° and enabling tunable interfacial interactions within polymer matrices. The obtained fillers were incorporated into waterborne PLA coatings plasticized with ionic-liquid-based systems. It was demonstrated that the modified fibers reduce the water uptake of the films by 20–45 %, improve microstructural uniformity, and enhance polymer–filler adhesion. The results of the stage confirm the full achievement of the planned objectives and form a solid basis for the further development of bio-based coatings with controlled performance characteristics.
