Registration Date 17-12-2025 Organization Uzhhorod National University State Higher Educational Institution popup.description1 The aim of the study is to develop predictive models for the response to neoadjuvant chemotherapy based on pre-treatment radiological images (ultrasound, mammography, magnetic resonance imaging, and computed tomography), followed by the extraction of radiomic features for the development of artificial intelligence models. popup.description2 The Research Center for Medical Image Analysis and AI (MIAAI) at the DPU has developed AI- based prediction models of response to neoadjuvant treatment in breast cancer. These models are based on radiological imaging (ultrasound, mammography and magnetic resonance imaging) acquired before treatment and radiomics features extracted from those images. External validation of AI algorithms on independent data sets is crucial for ensuring an algorithm’s generalisability and robustness. Therefore, this joint project aims to validate the developed predictors in collaboration with the Uzhhorod National University. Patients who underwent neoadjuvant treatment for breast cancer will be identified retrospectively at the UzhNU and their demographic, clinical and radiological imaging data will be collected. Academic radiologists from UzhNU and DPU will perform manual tumour segmentation and will jointly work on the external validation of the developed algorithms with computer scientists at the DPU.
