To achieve this goal, the following objectives were formulated: collecting information by the study of historical, archaeological, and cartographic sources; analysis of archival and archaeological data and historical maps; plotting the obtained graphic information on a working map; using Google Maps services and cartographic resources for a detailed study of the current state of the objects under study; study of the area using machine learning methods and algorithms for image recognition; analysis and processing of topographic data and photogrammetry; application of 3D modeling tools to create virtual models of cultural heritage objects popup.description2 The research work is devoted to the formation of scientific foundations for the virtual reconstruction of destroyed and damaged cultural heritage objects in Ukraine. The relevance of the study is due to the large-scale destruction caused by russian war aggression and the urgent need to preserve historical memory and cultural identity. As part of the research, a massive array of archival, cartographic and archaeological sources was collected, digitized and systematized. An in-depth cartographic analysis of the historical center of Sumy city and the Zelenyi Hai archaeological complex was carried out with georeferencing of maps of the 18th–20th centuries and considering the evolution of the relief and urban environment. Based on the data obtained, a 3D model of the original relief was developed, which is a fundamental in further modeling of historical buildings. An essential result is the documentation of the consequences of the russian’s missile strike on April 13, 2025, on the center of Sumy city. Aerial photography, photogrammetry and 3D models of destroyed monuments were carried out, which has scientific, restoration and evidentiary value. Also, prerequisites were created for the further development of machine learning algorithms to increase the accuracy of image analysis and digital maps. The results obtained constitute an important scientific and practical fundamental for the digital reconstruction of cultural heritage objects, the development of appropriate AR/VR solutions, and recommendations for planning restoration measures to strengthen the preservation system of historical objects in the war and post-war periods Product Description popup.authors Ivan V.
