Subject of research: structural elements of plants and their influence on the formation of economically valuable traits that determine fodder and seed productivity. Project goal: assessment of the gene pool of spring pea based on fodder and seed productivity in the conditions of the Western Forest-Steppe. Research methods: field, laboratory and measurement-weight, mathematical-statistical, calculation-comparative. Theoretical and practical results. As a result of the conducted scientific research, a database of the main phenological parameters of new varieties, varietal samples and forms of spring peas was created, their resistance to the main harmful organisms was assessed, and a promising variety was identified, breeding material resistant to environmental stress factors with increased indicators of complex evaluation according to economically valuable traits, which will allow creating varieties with increased and stable seed productivity and high quality forage. During the period 2024-2025, 699 hybrids of seed (spring) peas were in breeding work, including 311 in 2025. Of these, 58 hybrids were in the initial stages of the breeding process, including 35 in 2025, and 54 and 29 varieties were in the final stages, respectively. According to the results of the research, the selection samples were evaluated according to the main indicators of fodder and seed productivity in the conditions of Western Podillia, promising selection material was created, the Tayemnytsia variety was registered, for which a patent was obtained, and in 2025, it was included in the State Register of Plant Varieties Suitable for Distribution in Ukraine. This variety is distinguished by early and friendly seed ripening, is high-yielding, early-ripening, and is characterized by high resistance to diseases and seed shedding.
