Objective of the R&D – Application of scientifically substantiated solutions for the placement and selection of observation well designs that ensure reliable and accurate data during monitoring within the framework of radiohydroecological monitoring. Research methods – Development of scientifically substantiated recommendations for the construction of new observation wells using analysis and forecasting of changes in radiohydroecological conditions; development of design solutions and scientific and engineering support for the drilling of new observation wells. The work concerned scientific and engineering support for the drilling and equipping of observation wells, as well as the process of plugging (abandonment) of unsuitable observation wells. Observation wells 1-2G, 2-2G, and 2-3G were drilled and equipped. Well 3-2G was partially drilled at the time of report preparation. The works were carried out at the industrial site of the NSC – OU complex. As of November 2025, at the site of the new wells, the groundwater table depths ranged from 7.77 to 7.86 m (wells 31-1A, 1-2G, 2-3G, 3-3G, 1-3G, and 1-4G). The corresponding elevation marks varied within 108.48–109.53 m. In 2025, plugging of unsuitable observation wells S-20, S-21, and S-27 located along the Supply Channel and within the 750 kV switchyard area was completed. The scope of work included: analysis of hydrogeological conditions, mathematical modeling, justification of the placement and design of observation wells, development of geological and technical drilling specifications, direct supervision of drilling and well completion (process documentation and quality control), sampling and laboratory analysis of water samples, preparation of passports for new observation wells, and supervision of the quality of well plugging.
