The main objective of the research was to identify patterns of phytocenosis changes and to assess the rate of ecosystem recovery after fires. The study integrated methods of field geobotany, remote sensing, and mathematical–statistical data analysis. Complete geobotanical surveys were conducted on temporary sample plots, including the identification of species composition and projective cover on areas affected by fires in different years, as well as on unaffected control sites. On the permanent sample plot “Horilnyk”, parameters of woody vegetation recovery were analyzed. It was established that after fire disturbance, silver birch (Betula pendula) demonstrates intensive growth, characterized by a high density of individuals per unit area and rapid height increment, reaching up to 2.0 m within seven years. Analysis of Sentinel-2 and Landsat satellite imagery performed in the QGIS environment revealed gradual recovery of areas affected by fires in different years. An increase in NDVI values from 0.63 to 0.65 was recorded, indicating the restoration of vegetation potential and the activation of successional processes. As a result of this stage of research, a series of thematic maps illustrating recovery rates depending on the year of pyrogenic impact were developed. Special attention was paid to the calculation of biodiversity indices. Their gradual increase toward control values confirms the NDVI-based assessment and indicates an increase in species richness and stabilization of plant communities. The obtained results have practical significance for monitoring fire hazards and assessing the consequences of pyrogenic disturbances, which is particularly relevant given the proximity of the study area to zones of active military operations.
