An average level of correlation was established between UV-B resistance and morpho-physiological characteristics of plants: for watermelon samples (r=0.20…0.72), melons (r=0.19…0.77), pumpkins – (r= 0.30…0.57). The following watermelon samples were selected for productivity: L 57 (7.1 kg/plant); melon L 75 (4.5 kg/plant), pumpkin L 70 (12.0 kg/plant). By fruit weight: watermelon – L 57 (6.2 kg), melon – L 70 (2.1 kg), pumpkin – L 70 (7.0 kg). By the content of dry soluble matter, watermelon L 52 (12.3%) was selected; melon – L 79 (12.4%); pumpkin – L 67 (11.6%). According to the results of the research, a Patent for a utility model 154281 “Method for selecting high-yielding watermelon genotypes for resistance to UV-B radiation” was obtained. According to the results of the research, applications were submitted for examination and obtaining rights to newly created varieties: watermelon Buran, melon Fontanka, pumpkin Orange.
