The purpose of the comparison of the legal and factual conditions for the use of electronic document flow and the conduct of court hearings via videoconferencing is to provide impetus for the further development of the relevant digital capabilities in the participating countries. At the same time, based on this "digital foundation", further research will be conducted on whether and how the judiciary can use artificial intelligence applications and large-scale language models (such as ChatGPT). popup.description2 The aim of this project is to compare and analyse how electronic justice is implemented and applied in Germany and Ukraine. Theoretical analyses of academic publications and doctrinal analyses of key regulatory legal acts governing the introduction and functioning of electronic justice in the two countries have been carried out. Using the comparative legal method, we have identified similar and divergent aspects of legal regulation in the field of electronic judicial proceedings in Ukraine and Germany, and compared the respective states' procedures, tools and approaches to implementing digital technologies in their justice systems. Using the legal forecasting method, trends in the digitalisation of justice were analysed and recommendations were developed to address the challenges of implementing electronic justice in Ukraine and Germany. A dogmatic analysis of the key regulatory legal acts governing the introduction and functioning of electronic justice in each country has been conducted using classical methods of interpretation, and proposals for improving Ukraine's regulatory framework for electronic justice have been prepared. Using a comprehensive approach based on the comparative legal method and case-study methods, directions have been identified for the more active use of artificial intelligence and other advanced technologies in both judicial systems. This comparative legal study of electronic justice in Ukraine and Germany will contribute to academic discourse on the subject and improve the digitalisation of justice in practice.
