RARE EARTH ELEMENTS, PHOTONUCLEAR REACTIONS, BREMSSTRAHLUNG PHOTONS, PHOTONEUTRONS, MICROTRON The object of the study is the characteristics of the components (photons, electrons, photoneutrons) of bremsstrahlung beams generated on electron accelerators for the stimulation of photonuclear and neutron reactions on the nuclei of rare-earth elements necessary for non-destructive analysis of their isotopic content in the samples under study. The purpose of the work is to conduct simulation and experimental studies of the characteristics of photon and neutron beams formed on electron accelerators and neutron isotope sources, taking into account their technical characteristics, for the stimulation of photonuclear and neutron reactions on the nuclei of rare-earth elements with their subsequent identification by delayed gamma radiation from the formed radioisotopes. Main scientific results – working programs for modeling the parameters of bremsstrahlung photon and photoneutron beams for stimulating photonuclear and neutron reactions on electron accelerators to ensure the determination of the content of rare-earth elements using the GEANT4 toolkit; modeling of the yields of rare-earth element activation products (which can be used for non-destructive activation analysis) via the (γ,n)-reaction channel using the TALYS Monte Carlo code; a computer program was created to calculate the yields of photoneutrons generated by bremsstrahlung converters on electron accelerators; as a result of experimental studies, the content of photons and photoneutrons in bremsstrahlung beams generated by a tantalum converter on the M-30 microtron was determined.
