According to the indicators of adaptability, resistance to diseases, lodging, shedding, drooping and fragility of the ear in the hybrid nursery of 2-6 generations, 57 numbers were allocated; the breeding nursery of the 1st year of study – 17; the breeding nursery of the 2nd year of study – 9; the control nursery – 16; the competitive variety test – 5 numbers. The highest yield level in the competitive variety test of spring barley, exceeding (4.78 t/ha), was formed by samples 873n65 (5.08 t/ha), 887n31 (4.88 t/ha), 832n11 (5.04 t/ha), 926n72 (5.13 t/ha), 887n47. The best selection numbers of spring barley exceeded the average standard by 0.58 - 0.83 t/ha (13.5 - 17.2 %), bare-grain - 0.45 - 0.78 t/ha (18.8 - 32.5 %).
