The characteristics of atmospheric gravity waves that determine their influence on the energy balance of the atmosphere in the polar regions were determined. The wind mechanism of the energy impact of waves on the polar atmosphere was studied. According to magnetometric measurements at the station “Akademik Vernadsky”, the electromagnetic response to the propagation of atmospheric gravity waves during different seasons and under different geomagnetic conditions was studied. Based on the results obtained, conclusions were drawn regarding the contribution of atmospheric gravity waves to the energy balance of the upper atmosphere when the geomagnetic situation changes.
