All available samples have been certified. The variability of quantitative and qualitative indicators of oilseed samples during the years of collection cultivation was determined. In addition to the usual indicators of samples and their description according to classical methods, improvements to the descriptions were developed and patterns and dependencies of individual characteristics were established. High negative correlations of the number of lateral heads (branching) in sunflower lines with all quantitative indicators of seeds in the central head (-0.5 – -0.69) were established. In particular, the number of rows, seeds in a row, the total number of laid and filled seeds. High correlation values from 0.72 to 0.97 were confirmed between the characteristics of the entire sunflower head and its part - the first tier: the number of seeds, the number of filled seeds, the diameter of the head, the number of rows and the number of seeds in the row. There were also high coefficients between the characteristic of the mass of a thousand seeds and all three dimensions of the seed: length, width, thickness. A moderate positive correlation of the strength of the destruction of seeds with the mass of the kernel (r = 0.63) and the mass of the seed (r = 0.61) was established. The presence of two genes, the recessive state of which reveals the black color of sesame seeds, has been proven. The presence of two separate genes has been established, each of which in the recessive state causes the yellow color of the seeds in mustard.
