The scientific and technical (applied) result obtained during the development should be presented in the form of a scientific and technical report popup.description2 The object of the study is a system for grouping and coding of material and technical resources used in the construction sector. The purpose of the work is to carry out the development due to the need to improve the ability to determine unified approaches to grouping and coding of material and technical resources in construction, which are used by all participants in the investment construction project at different stages of its implementation. Research methods are analysis of regulatory documents and standards, comparative analysis of existing classifiers, systematization and grouping of data, logical modeling methods, expert assessments. The main content of the work is to investigate the applicability of three approaches to codification - hierarchical, combined and hierarchical-faceted - with modeling of their practical use on examples of building materials. The key shortcomings of the hierarchical and combined methods are identified, associated with duplication of codes, excessive detailing and low statistical suitability of price data for analytics. By analyzing three variants of code construction, it was proven that the most appropriate for practical implementation is the combined method (Variant 2). It allows avoiding technical difficulties associated with the formation of excessively long and difficult-to-perceive codes, which is typical for the hierarchical-facet method when describing products with a large number of technical characteristics. A three-level hierarchical structure of the Codifier of Construction Products has been formed, which ensures the unified formation of its names. Facet characteristics have been defined for individual categories, specifying product parameters. Additionally, the corresponding codes from the current state classifiers have been integrated, in particular those covering the classification of building materials.
