Monitoring of the entomofauna of the winter wheat agrocenosis was carried out, as a result of which its structural features and dominant groups of phytophagous insects were identified under climate change conditions of the Southern Steppe. It was established that: the use of biological protection methods makes it possible to increase winter wheat grain yield by 7.4–13.0% compared with the variant without their application, without deterioration of grain quality; pre-sowing seed treatment with biopreparations did not affect the density of hortobionts and herpetobionts, unlike chemical preparations, which led to a decrease in the dynamic density of herpetobionts; specific features of biopreparation action were identified: Actofit BT + Bitoxibacillin BT and Boverin BT + Metarhizyn BT affect the pest complex with an emphasis on a significant reduction in aphid populations, while the mixture of Likanicilin BT + Betsymid BT has a greater effect on thrips; the use of bioinsecticides ensures the preservation of the qualitative and quantitative composition of predators, parasites and parasitoids that actively participate in pest population regulation, which is important for the biologization of agriculture; the technical efficiency of the mixture Actofit BT + Bitoxibacillin BT against thrips and aphids was 55.8% and 66.7%, respectively, while the mixture Likanicilin BT + Betsymid BT against aphids reached 83.3%; agronomic efficiency ranged from 0.20 to 0.28 t/ha of preserved yield and for every hryvnia spent on biological protection, an additional 1.75 UAH of net profit was obtained.
