Against the background of chronic heat stress, the physicochemical properties of milk change: the fat and protein content decreases, and the density increases; the most sensitive indicator was found to be the proportion of butyric acid (C4:0), which monotonically decreases with increasing THI. A dimensionless thermal tolerance coefficient (CT = (C4:0/C4:0_ref) × (THI_ref/THI)) is proposed, which combines a biochemical marker of the mammary gland with a microclimatic index and provides an early, standardized risk assessment. Morphological and biochemical blood parameters confirm the systemic nature of stress: anemic changes, leukocytosis with a neutrophilic component, increased liver enzymes and CK, hypoalbuminemia, hypocalcemia/hypomagnesemia. The severity of changes depends on the productivity and parameters of nervous regulation: sympathicotonics and animals with a weak or unbalanced type of GNI are the most vulnerable; vagotonics and strong balanced ones are more resistant. In practice, this allows predicting the flow of raw milk based on meteorological indicators, promptly managing cooling/feeding and taking into account neurophysiological features in selection.
