More than 24,500 samples of breeding material were evaluated; from 25,200 seedlings from 445 cross combinations, breeding material of value was selected for further study and the creation of competitive varieties. Stable populations of hybrid and self-pollinated origin with high breeding value were formed. Based on the research results, the varieties Soncedar, Svitan, Fanatka, Rostavytsia, and Dzhavlina were created and patented. New competitive varieties Divina, Yarina, and Helena were submitted for state variety testing. Sources of economically valuable traits were identified: high productivity, large tubers, increased starch content, improved consumer properties, ecological plasticity, and adaptability. Donors and sources of complex resistance to potato cancer, late blight, alternaria, bacterial rot, golden and stem nematodes, common scab, fusarium, physiological disorders, as well as genotypes with high drought resistance have been identified. The dependence of productivity on the hydrothermal coefficient (HTC 0.7–1.1) has been established; yield losses due to moisture deficiency are 53–61% depending on the group A model of an adaptive potato variety for Polissya with a potential yield of up to 35.9 t/ha, starch content of up to 19% and a tasting score of up to 8.5 points has been developed. The methodology for assessing drought resistance has been improved through a four-phase selection scheme and a methodology for assessing taste qualities using the coefficient of variation as a criterion for adaptability.
