Its effectiveness depends on ensuring proper water treatment, implementing risk management systems, monitoring and transparent interaction with local communities. For Ukraine, where there is a high level of water shortage in certain regions, the integration of such practices can become an important element of the strategy for sustainable development of the agricultural sector and adaptation to climate change. Based on the results of experimental studies conducted in 2024–2025, the Institute of Climate-Smart Agriculture of the NAAS has formed an information base on the formation of systems of criteria for determining the regions of feasibility of reusing additionally treated water for irrigation, as well as a database on the effectiveness of the bioplateau method as a full-fledged ecosystem for additional treatment of wastewater for irrigation. Methodological recommendations have been developed on the areas of additional treatment of wastewater for reuse in agriculture for irrigation. The results of the research can be used by the basin water resources departments of the State Water Agency of Ukraine, scientific institutions, agricultural enterprises, and water user associations that carry out agricultural activities on irrigated lands.
