Purpose of the work – development of scientific and technical foundations for modern diagnostic systems of neutron-physical, thermal-hydraulic, and vibration parameters of FAs and IVCs during the implementation of new types of nuclear fuel in VVER reactor plants at Ukrainian NPPs under extended (beyond design) service life conditions. Research method – determination of nuclear installation safety parameters based on the results of experimental studies and the application of modern computational codes for modeling neutron-physical, thermal-hydraulic, and vibration processes in nuclear installations. Results of the R&D – the presented results include studies on determining the neutron-physical, thermal-hydraulic, and vibration parameters of fuel assemblies in VVER reactor plants, as well as radiation characteristics of irradiated nuclear fuel of nuclear installations, including SNFSF. Recommendations for the use of results – the R&D results are recommended for implementation in: the development of application software for the SVRK-M2 VVER-1000 system, particularly in the development of algorithms and programs for determining the burnup parameters of SPND emitters and for determining the transfer function between the SPND current and power release in FAs; and in the educational process of the NTUU “Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute.” Field of application – nuclear installations: power reactors VVER-440, VVER-1000, the research nuclear reactor VVR-M, the subcritical assembly of the NSC KIPT, and spent nuclear fuel storage facilities. Conclusions – the development and implementation in operational practice of nuclear installations of modern methods for studying nuclear safety parameters—neutron-physical, thermal-hydraulic, and vibration—are fundamental nuclear safety tasks, remain relevant, and work in this area will be continued.
