The methodological basis for studying the collection funds was developed and substantiated, which includes general scientific and special methods. The functional purpose of general scientific methods was defined: methods of empirical and theoretical research, which are used to systematize the obtained results, ensuring effective structuring, classification, typologization, and description of collection items. The scope of application of special methods was established, which contributes to an in-depth analysis of objects within a narrow research context. They are necessary for carrying out key scientific-stock processes, namely: certification (passportization), scientific inventory, accounting, systematization, and cataloging.
