The aim of the work is to create a sociolinguistic portrait of the Ukrainian army during the Great War (2022–2025), as well as a semantic, stylistic, and functional description of the dynamics of linguistic means of expression used in communication by military personnel; to create prognostic assessments of the development of the linguistic environment in the Ukrainian army. Research methods – descriptive, qualitative, quantitative, comparative, linguopragmatic, comparative-historical methods; questionnaires; sociolinguistic observation method; linguistic text analysis method; semantic method. The Sections of the collective monograph «The Language of the Ukrainian Army: Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow» have been prepared. The working version of the monograph is 5 author sheets. A sociolinguistic questionnaire for studying the language of military personnel has been developed and tested. Based on the results of a sociolinguistic survey, an analysis of the linguistic situation within the communicative environment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine was conducted. The historical conditions for the formation of military terminology in the mid-20th century are considered, as well as the main communication strategies and tactics used by contemporary Ukrainian military media. Special attention is paid to the growing role of English in the linguistic space of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the peculiarities of the use of abbreviations and jargon in military discourse. Written and published 8 articles (5.3 author’s sheets; ≈212,000 characters), devoted to the language of the Ukrainian army in its synchronic and diachronic perspectives. The presentations, articles, and chapters of the monograph constitute a comprehensive study of the language of the Ukrainian army.
