An algorithm for modifying functional and graphical components of software has been developed that uses knowledge of the subject area in combination with message broker mechanisms to ensure uninterrupted operation and scaling of software systems. The integration of message brokers and the principles of dead-letter exchange, in combination with caching of adaptation requests, provides the necessary level of availability. Saving configurations in the cache makes it possible to reduce the load on the ontological model, which in turn allows the software to process requests without blocking the main execution flow. An experimental study of approaches to designing ontological models of an adaptive software system has been conducted. An abstract approach to designing ontological models has been developed. The effectiveness of this approach has been evaluated in comparison with the classical approach. The calculated values of structural-hierarchical metrics in the case of the abstract approach indicate faster and more correct processing of ontological and SWRL (semantic web rule language) rules. The determined metrics of the schema and content of the ontological model also emphasize the advantage of the abstract approach to the design of ontological models. The increase in the values of the content of classes and their saturation in this case indicates an increase in the informativeness of the model, its semantic quality, and interpretability, which confirms the feasibility of using ontological approaches to ensure the adaptability of software systems.
