They not only enrich the soil with nitrogen and organic matter, but also actively participate in the regulation of the water-salt balance, effectively counteracting the potential salinization of soils in irrigated agriculture. This makes them an indispensable element of ecologically balanced agricultural systems, which is critically important for ensuring long-term productivity of lands in the south of Ukraine. They also contribute to obtaining maximum seed productivity of agricultural crops (winter wheat, sunflower) in crop rotation. This approach ensures the transition to a model of sustainable land use, where environmental safety is combined with high profitability of crop production. Based on the results of the 2025 tests, an improved model of sunflower cultivation under irrigation was proposed. The introduction of this technology into production in the south of Ukraine allows to increase the yield of sunflower by 7–10% under natural moisture conditions, and by 10–15% under irrigation. At the same time, crop losses from drought and temperature stress are reduced by 20–25%, water consumption by 10–15%, and the cost of production is reduced by 10–20%.
