The obtained experimental data are used to verify the accuracy and adapt the instrumentally calculated methods for assessing the soil water regime. An improvement of the Shtoiko method formula for determining evapotranspiration (ET) based on remote sensing (RS) data was carried out using soybean crops as an example. Multispectral satellite images were used to calculate the albedo of the vegetation cover and bare soil during the growing season until full canopy closure. Data from field observations were used to assess the degree of visual crop coverage of the field. Based on the study results, an instrumentally calculated algorithm for operational irrigation management and calculation of water demand norms under resource-saving conditions was improved, ensuring increased water use efficiency in irrigation systems. The research results have applied significance for the optimization of irrigation regimes, reduction of water consumption, enhancement of agroecosystem productivity, and can be used in the development of information and analytical systems for water use management in agriculture.
