L.M. Litvinenko of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine popup.description1 The goal of scientific research is to establish the regularities of the formation and optimization of the conditions for the synthesis of nanoparticles of ferromagnetic metals (iron, cobalt, nickel) capable of self-organization and to test their use as fillers in polymer composite materials for their use in protecting equipment from electromagnetic radiation. popup.description2 The research work carried out within the framework of the scientific direction of the Department of Physical Chemistry of Fossil Fuels of the Institute of Physical-Organic Chemistry and Coal Chemistry named after L. M. Lytvynenko of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine “Research into directed processes of the formation of nanomaterials and new functional nanosystems” and fully corresponds to one of the priority directions of scientific research of the NAS of Ukraine “Creation and application of nanotechnologies and technologies of nanomaterials”. The purpose of the work is to develop methods for preparing d-element nanopowders and testing their use as fillers of polymer composite materials for shielding electromagnetic radiation. As a result of the research: 1) the influence of synthesis conditions on the kinetic features of the formation and properties of nanoparticles based on Ni, Co and Fe was investigated; 2) the conditions for the scaled synthesis of mono- and bimetallic nanopowders based on nickel, cobalt and iron were optimized; 3) the influence of the elemental composition and concentration of the nanosized filler, as well as the nature of the binder on the electrophysical properties of nanocomposites was investigated; 4) it was established that the use of a hydrophilic binder contributes to an increase in the efficiency of EMI shielding in the frequency range of 5.5 - 10 GHz from 3 to 10 dB; 5) it is shown that the optimal filler for the preparation of shielding composites is bimetallic nanoparticles Ni75Co25. Research methods - kinetic, spectral, X-ray structural, electron microscopy, electrophysical and electromagnetic studies. Publications on the topic of research: 22 abstracts of reports at international and all-Ukrainian conferences, 21 articles in periodicals (12 of them in journals belonging to the Q1 – Q3 quartiles), 1 monograph (published abroad), 1 collection of scientific papers and 1 chapter in a collective monograph.
