Ya. Yuriev of the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences of Ukraine popup.description1 Purpose – to create new starting material and fodder, bread-making and universal varieties of alternative winter triticale the basis of comprehensive breeding and molecular genetic studies of morphobiological, adaptive, and protein-carbohydrate systems of triticale popup.description2 The study object was triticale. The purpose was to create a new starting material with high-quality gluten for dough and bread, which will further contribute to the improvement of triticale cultivars. In 2021, winter triticale cv. ‘Tryfon’ was created and submitted; it can be grown as a universal cultivar for fodder, technical and food purposes. In 2022, a new multi-line triticale cultivar of alternate grown habit, cv. ‘Mileva’, was created and submitted for qualifying examination; it can be grown as a universal cultivar for fodder, technical and food purposes. Winter triticale universal lines (23/22, 49/22, 165/22) were created; they are superior to counterparts, yielding more grain and more green mass, containing more protein, with an overall bread-making score of 8.5–9.0 points. In 2023, six winter fodder triticale lines were created (612-1772 r3, 500-1720 r1, 713-1023 r6, 577-1197 r5, 666-1011, 670-1018); they are superior to counterparts, yielding more grain yield and more green mass, containing of protein content in grain, with a plant height, and overall bread-making scores of 8.0–9.0 points. Multi-line winter triticale fodder cv. ‘Baltazar’ was submitted; it can be used as a universal cultivar for fodder, technical and food purposes. In 2024, 4 winter triticale lines were created (579-1198 r4, 660-1024, 560-1007, 663-1028 p6); they are noticeable for high- quality gluten, dough and bread. The yield potential amounts to 12 t/ha. Winter triticale cv. ‘IR Synevyr’ intended for baking industry, with increased yield and improved grain quality, was submitted. It yields 7.34 t/ha. In 2025, a new grain triticale cultivar with alternate growth habit, cv. ‘IR Filantrop’, was created and submitted for qualifying examination. It can yield over 12 t/ha. The cultivar has good bread-making properties: the flour strength is 230, the loaf volume 650 cm3. Methodological guidelines “Creation of Triticale Cultivars with Stably High Bread-Making Properties” were prepared. Product Description popup.authors Raisa A.
