An analysis was conducted of scientific publications devoted to the study of Attic black-figure pottery from Olbia and Berezan for the entire period of archaeological research of these sites. At the first stage, literature by both foreign and domestic authors was reviewed. Materials from the world's largest museum collections and publications from leading ancient centers were used as a basis for searching for analogies with materials from Olbia and Berezan. Publications by Ukrainian researchers form the basis for further comparison of materials from these cities with finds from other centers in the Northern Black Sea region. A preliminary review and analysis of the collections of Attic black-figure pottery from the scientific archives of the Institute of Archaeology of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine was carried out, and materials were selected for further research. A total of 75 boxes of material were processed, from which 1,776 pottery fragments were selected for further processing, which will form the basis for further work. Based on these collections, a preliminary typology of artifacts was carried out according to morphological features and iconography. Photographs and drawings of the profile parts of ceramic products were made, allowing for a more detailed analysis of their technological and stylistic characteristics. The drawings were made by hand on a scale of one to one, with subsequent digitization and processing in Adobe Illustrator. For the first publication of the results, kiliks with medallions containing images of Gorgoneion were selected. Thirty fragments of Attic black-figure bowls stored in the reserve funds of the Institute of Archaeology of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine were identified. Thanks to the documentation, they can be included in the scientific collection. Product Description popup.authors Chechulina Iryna O. popup.nrat_date 2026-01-07 Close
