The purpose was to establish peculiarities of differentiation of wheat and triticale gene pool of tolerance to hypothermia, hyperthermia, and dehydration, to identify sources and references of high levels of tolerance, and to build up a complex tolerance-based collection of wheat. Methods–field, vegetation and laboratory experiments. Theoretical and practical results: The genetic diversity of winter cereals was described and differentiated by tolerance to abiotic factors. Sources of high freezing tolerance (7-9 points) were selected (38 wheat sources, 5 triticale sources, and 5 rye sources); trait collections for freezing tolerance of winter cereals were enriched; reference varieties with tolerance to action of stressors were identified. A trait collection of wheat for complex tolerance to dehydration and hyperthermia. Scientific guidelines for comprehensive evaluation of tolerance of winter crop varieties to abiotic factors. Analytical basis for meta-analysis of data on changes in proline content in wheat under drought. Features of functional relationships between contents of dehydrins and compatible osmolytes during hardening were established; correlations between drought tolerance parameters of genotypes were analyzed. Novelty: new methods developed allowed for a comprehensive assessment of the stress resistance of the wheat gene pool; for the first time in Ukraine, a wheat collection based on complex resistance to stress factors was created. Implementation effectiveness: developments have been implemented in the PBGI-NCSCI, agricultural, production and educational institutions. Field of use: research and educational institutions, agribusinesses. Product Description popup.authors Tetiana O. Yastreb Yurii Y. Kolupaiev Volodymyr V. Pozdniakov Olha V. Antsyferova Oleksandr I.
