Beketov national university of urban economy in Kharkiv popup.description1 To develop scientific and practical solutions to the challenges in urban street greening popup.description2 The report presents the results of a research project focused on assessing the condition, species composition, and environmental parameters of street trees in the city of Kharkiv. The study followed a three-stage methodology consisting of analytical, field, and summarizing phases. During the preparatory stage, existing inventory methods and international approaches were reviewed, including practices from Ukraine, EU countries, and the United States. The field stage involved surveys of three model street sections, where 117 individual trees were inventoried. For each specimen, species identification, morphometric measurements, decorative value, sanitary condition, mechanical and biological damages, and environmental characteristics were recorded, accompanied by precise geolocation. Tree condition and spatial patterns were visualized using Google My Maps. The study resulted in the development of an adapted assessment methodology and a classification of typical stress factors affecting urban trees. Based on the collected data, key determinants of tree vitality under dense urban conditions were identified, and recommendations for improving tree resilience and maintenance planning were proposed.
