In the future, promising collection linear material is planned to be involved in the full scheme of the breeding process, as a basis for creating high-yielding sunflower hybrids with a high genotypic norm of ecological response. popup.description2 From the general collection of the laboratory for breeding interlineage sunflower hybrids and the collection of the laboratory of genetic resources of the Institute of Oilseeds of the NAAS, samples of sunflower linear material were selected and analyzed for a set of characteristics. The newly created breeding material was involved in the breeding system of crosses. Phytopathological selection of breeding material was carried out, on an infectious background. A collection of inbred lines was formed (42 samples). The isolated sources are characterized by complex resistance to the main phytopathogens. The breeding value of inbred lines was studied, genetic sources were identified. The selected samples are distinguished by specific marker signs, observations of the main phenophases were made. Biometric measurements of sunflower plants were carried out. Breeding nurseries in 2024-2025 were aimed at creating self-pollinated lines of different years of intsukhta. Initial forms were sown in 1282 plots, of which: nursery for creating self-pollinated lines (I3 – I8) - 344 samples; nursery for obtaining starting material I1 - 56 samples; nursery for creating backcross pairs - 530 samples; nursery for creating lines of pollen fertility reducers - 291 samples; collection inbred sunflower samples - 61 samples. Selection was carried out for drought resistance and resistance to major phytopathogens, and 8 constant outcross pairs were selected that were resistant to elevated temperatures in field conditions.
