The purpose of the research work is to ensure an increase in the level of fire safety of construction products by improving national requirements for toxicity indicators of volatile products released during combustion of such products and methods for their determination. The object of the research is to assess the toxicity of volatile products released during combustion of construction products. The subject of the research is methods for determining and requirements for toxicity indicators of volatile products released during combustion of construction products. Based on the results of the research, a draft national standard has been developed for requirements and methods for testing construction products for the toxicity of volatile combustion products. The results of the work performed will allow improving the national regulatory framework regarding the requirements for toxicity indicators of volatile products released during the combustion of construction products and methods for their determination, taking into account the requirements of international and European standards. Also, the results of the research allow not only to assess the level of danger of existing materials, but also to contribute to the creation of new, environmentally safer materials, which will reduce risks to human life and health in emergency situations.
