They are based on a new set of 16 differentiators —wheat lines and cultivars carrying effective Pm resistance genes (from Pm1a to Pm37), with special race coding and letter designation. From the pathogen population, 75 monoconidial isolates were isolated and tested on 64 lines. The highest resistance (score 9) was shown by carriers of Pm4a+ and Pm20, high (score 8) - Pm17 and Pm25. Moderate (score 7) had Pm4b, Pm5a, Pm6, Pm7, Pm8, Pm34, Pm35, Pm37; weak (score 6) - Pm10, Pm11. Genes Pm1 and Pm2 proved ineffective (score 4–5), others—highly susceptible. In the population, virulence dominates to Pm1a, Pm2, Pm3c, Pm5a, Pm6, Pm7, Pm8; very low—to Pm17, Pm20, absent—to Pm4a+ and Pm25. Nover's set (1957, 9 cultivars) is outdated: its genes are ineffective, coding is cumbersome, and data insufficient for breeding in southern Ukraine. The new set (Pm1a, 2, 3c, 4b, 5a, 6, 7, 8, 10, 11, 17, 20, 25, 34, 35, 37) with improved methods of monoisolate isolation, propagation, and phytorating on benzimidazole allows precise determination of racial composition, virulence, aggressiveness, and gene efficacy. This is the first such method in Ukraine, comparable to the world's best, and key to successful breeding of resistant wheat Product Description popup.authors Vita A. Traskovetska Oleksandr S.
