The subject of research is the process of greening the state economy on the path to sustainable development. The aim of the work is to improve the theoretical and methodological foundations for researching the concept of sustainable development in modern conditions, studying the EU's best practices in introducing a green economy in order to further develop effective strategic approaches to greening Ukraine's economy, which will enable our state to increase the competitiveness of the national economy and its level of convergence with the EU economic system, which, in turn, will contribute to Ukraine's full integration into the European Union. Research methods – empirical observation, economic and statistical analysis, game theory and stochastic modelling, economic and mathematical and comparative analyses, conceptual modelling and a systematic approach, graphical method. The scientific novelty of the results obtained lies in the formation of theoretical and methodological provisions for a comprehensive solution to the problems of implementing the concept of sustainable development with the development of strategies for greening the state economy in the context of modern global transformations. The practical value of the research results lies in the development of theoretical, methodological and applied foundations for studying the concept of sustainable development based on European experience in introducing a green economy, with the possibility of its further implementation in the socio-economic and political realities of Ukraine.
