Registration Date 14-01-2026 Organization Plant Breeding and Genetics Institute - National Center of Seed and Cultivar Investigation popup.description1 А comprehensive analysis of winter bread wheat genotypes created in different ways: intraspecific and distant hybridization, complex crosses, backcross, individual multiple selections. Analysis of lines for the degree fertility, development type, disease resistance, saturating crosses and more. Research of selected genotypes in all steps of the breeding process, propagation of seeds of the best lines and transfer of "candidates for varieties" to the state variety testing popup.description2 By using various types of crosses, a large genetic diversity has been created for its further use in breeding. As a result of the use of various types of complex crosses, mainly with recurrent parental components of common wheat, and selection, a genetic line of donors with race-specific and polygenic non-race-specific resistance to the main fungal diseases of wheat was created. Methodological studies have established that for the conditions of the South of Ukraine, adaptive varieties should have the following type of ontogenesis - a not very long period of vernalization (45–50 days) and weak or moderately weak photoperiodic sensitivity. This is associated with their high productivity. The lines were selected according to quality indicators at the level of strong and super-strong wheat and the ability to form stable grain yields under various weather and agrotechnical conditions, which were transferred to the State qualification examination (SQE) of the UIPVE under the names: Epitet, Etual`, Saga, Savelina, Nezlamna, Vidvaga, Pochest`, Shana. In 2021–2025, 11 varieties of winter soft wheat of a high-intensity type were created and transferred to the SQE: Epigraph, Epitet, Etual`, Saga, Savelina, Nagoroda, Nezlamna, Vidvaga, Pochest`, Shana. The first 5 have already been entered into the State Register of Plant Varieties, the remaining varieties continue to be examined. In addition, 5 more varieties were registered in 2021 and 2022, which were created in the previous five-year plan. During the reporting period of 2021–2025, the laboratory grew 158.6 tons of original pre-basic seeds of high generations (RV-2, RR-1, RR-2, RNNS), of which 107.5 tons were sold to specialized seed farms.
