The project purpose – to collect, identify and guaranteedly preserve the genepool of field grain, technical, fodder and vegetables crops, potatoes and corn on the basis of comprehensive research of collection material, to select sources of economic and breeding-valuable traits, and to creation special, trait and other collections. The method sincluded field, laboratory, analytical and statistical tests. Theoretical and practical results. Collections of genetic resources of grain, technical, fodder, vegetable crops, potatoes and corn have been formed, which include 18991 accessions of 143 crops. Two varieties of soft (winter) wheat have been created. One working, two special and three trait collections, 46 sources of valuable economic traits have been registered. Two methodological recommendations for the research of plant genetic resources have been issued. Three catalogues of plant genetic diversity have been created. Novelty. Accessions of agricultural crops were systematized according to a complex of various traits and on this basis, trait, working and special collections of crops with high adaptive capacity were created. Sources of a high level of manifestation of traits adapted to the climatic conditions of Ukraine were identified in order to involve them in the breeding process. New competitive varieties of soft (winter) wheat were created. Effectiveness of implementation. The formed collections and selected sources will be recommended for use in breeding programs for various areas of use, scientific and educational research. Thanks to the use of the expanded genepool, the efficiency of breeding work will increase, and the spectrum of use in various areas of industry will expand. Field of use.
