Chebotar, Доктор біологічних наук Registration Date 16-01-2026 Organization Odesa I.I. Mechnikov National University popup.description1 To reveal the genetic determinants of adaptation characteristics for different groups of organisms to certain ecological conditions and to propose methods and test systems for screening with the aim reveal toxicity and ability to inducing stress for xenobiotics, biologically active substances and environmental conditions. popup.description2 The object of the study is the process of forming genetic coadaptation in an environment that is changing intensively. The purpose of the research work is to clarify the mechanisms of forming genetic adaptation in different groups of organisms under the influence of various environmental factors, in particular, factors of anthropogenic load on natural populations of organisms and on agrocenoses of individual crops. Research methods: DNA isolation, allele-specific PCR, microsatellite analysis, electrophoresis in agarose, polyacrylamide gels, allozyme analysis, dispersion and discriminant analysis, biochemical methods (determination of enzyme activity, in particular the antioxidant system, the content of vitamins and their derivatives, etc.). Scientifically substantiated data were obtained on the genetic determination of the adaptive characteristics of various groups of organisms - Triticum L., Drosophila, Mytilus, Homo sapiens to certain environmental conditions and associations of certain markers with adaptive characteristics in various groups of organisms were proven; polymorphism in a number of gene-enzyme systems in various groups of organisms (wheat, barley, Black Sea mussels, Drosophila) was determined; genetic determinants of the adaptability of various groups of organisms to pollution of various ecological systems were investigated; genotoxicity of various biologically active substances, drugs, pesticides and some abiotic factors was assessed using various test objects; adaptive characteristics of various groups of organisms (common wheat varieties, white rats, Drosophila, mosquitoes) and their genetic polymorphism were studied using genetic and biochemical methods. The work combines genetic, breeding, and biochemical approaches to studying the adaptation of organisms to changing conditions. The research results are integrated into required and elective courses for biology and biotechnological students of all levels. Product Description popup.authors Sabina V. Chebotar Olexandr K.
