The object of the research is the technological processes of operation of agricultural machine-tractor aggregates based on “Autotractor”-type MPUs. The subject of the research is the regularities of variation in their traction and operational characteristics depending on design parameters and operating modes. The aim of the study is to substantiate the parameters of MPUs and technological modules for their aggregation, enabling a reduction in the range and cost of the machine and tractor fleet as well as operating costs in agricultural production. The research was carried out using mathematical modelling, methods of theoretical mechanics, tractor dynamics, and numerical methods, as well as experimental testing employing strain-gauge instrumentation and statistical data processing. The feasibility of equipping MPUs with mounted linkage systems for aggregation with ploughs, deep rippers, and disc harrows has been demonstrated. Patent research was conducted, and a development trend toward multifunctional MPUs suitable for both traction-driven and transport operations was identified. A size and power range of “Autotractor”-type MPUs was substantiated, comprising four traction classes with operating mass from 1.4 to 13.8 t, engine power from 30 to 300 kW, payload capacity from 0.5 to 12.0 t, 4×4 and 6×6 wheel configurations, and a maximum travel speed of up to 80–90 km/h. Permissible parameters of technological modules for aggregation on the MPU frame, rear-mounted and front-mounted linkage systems, as well as in a trailed configuration, were substantiated.
