The object of study is the Compton quasi-monochromatic gamma quantum source NESTOR. The purpose of the work is to conduct experimental and theoretical research on the NESTOR accumulator in connection with the transfer of the accelerator, as a source of injected electrons, to the international standard frequency of 2856 MHz and the corresponding modernization of the accumulator for operation at a frequency of 714 MHz. Possible variants of the accelerator-accumulator complex schemes are presented, and the necessary measures for their creation are described. Variants of modernizing the NESTOR storage ring, including those with minimal modifications, are considered. A comparison of the main parameters of NESTOR and the new ring is carried out. The geometry of the new ring is based on the old one, with an increase in the length of the central gaps in the injection and collision areas by 6 cm. The distances between the other elements of the ring remain unchanged. The modes of the quadrupoles and sextupoles remain virtually unchanged (no more than 3%). Based on the results of the work performed, it is planned to continue research with the aim of further improving and putting the NESTOR generator into investigation operation.
