The research also aimed to increase the efficiency of using doubled haploid (DH) lines in breeding programs. The sterilization conditions of the explant material were optimized, as well as the composition (including the iron source) and the type of nutrient media. It was established that shortening the sterilization time improves microspore viability. The W14 medium was identified as the most productive among all tested variants for androgenesis induction. In total, 76 DH wheat lines were obtained and characterized. Among them, 52 lines showed complex resistance to six of the most widespread wheat diseases. Molecular-genetic analysis enabled the identification of key resistance genes, including Lr26/Sr31/Pm8/Yr9, Lr34/Yr18/Sr57/Pm38, Lr68, Sr58, Pm39, and Yr29. These genes are associated with polygenic, race-non-specific resistance to rust diseases and powdery mildew. Four DH lines (No. 115 DH1, No. 207 DH1, КП186 DH1, and КП230 DH2) were found to carry three or more resistance-gene loci (Lr34+Lr46+Lr68, Sr31+Sr58, Pm38+Pm39, Yr18+Yr29, Bdv1). This makes them valuable donors for future breeding programs. Based on a portion of the DH lines obtained earlier, a new winter bread wheat cultivar, Moment, was jointly developed by specialists from three departments. The cultivar demonstrates group resistance to major pathogens and has been submitted for State Variety Testing. This achievement confirms the high practical value of the obtained results. It also demonstrates the effectiveness of combining in vitro androgenesis with marker-assisted selection in modern breeding, in line with leading international practices.
