Subject of the study involves processes of ensuring structural stability and safe evacuation within civil protection shelters under the influence of fire and explosive loads. The purpose of the study is to develop methodologies for assessing the reliability of civil protection shelters against progressive collapse and for ensuring safe evacuation of the population, taking into account the influence of fire and explosive loads on the structural stability of the facilities and on human movement conditions. Research methods. To achieve the stated purpose, the study applies the following methods: analytical methods, which serve to analyse the state of scientific research, building codes, and standards, and to determine the requirements for structural stability; methods of physical and mathematical modelling, which are used to formalize the processes of progressive collapse, load transfer within the structural system, and the development of hazardous fire factors; numerical modelling within specialized software environments, which is used to perform the necessary analyses: LIRA-SAPR is used for dynamic analysis and determination of the stress–strain state of load-bearing systems; PyroSIM is used for calculating hazardous fire factors and identifying zones of critical environmental conditions; PathFinder is used for evacuation modelling, determining evacuation time, and the throughput capacity of evacuation routes.
