An analysis of modern technological solutions in the field of vibro-pneumatic separation is carried out. The prospects of using a combined pneumo-mechanical effect, which combines vibrational action with a pulsating air flow, are shown, which contributes to the intensification of the intralayer movement of particles and the improvement of the conditions for the formation of stable fractions. In the course of theoretical studies, the regularities of the movement of grain particles in a vibro-pneumatically fluidized bed were established and the influence of air pulsation parameters on the quality of density separation was determined. An experimental sample of a combined vibro-pneumatic separator with improved geometry of the working surface and a pulsating flow formation system was created and refined. A set of laboratory experimental studies was performed, which confirmed the increase in fractionation efficiency, improved uniformity of the velocity diagram and reduced losses of full-fledged seeds. In addition, production tests were carried out in real conditions of operation of post-harvest units, the results of which established the stability of the technological process and the compliance of quality indicators with the requirements of seed production. The results obtained form the scientific and technical basis for the creation of a new generation of high-performance machines for cleaning and fractionating seeds, aimed at increasing productivity, reducing energy consumption and ensuring high quality of seed material.
