The research methods included: (i) development of a categorization of military impact and a point assessment of the nature of destruction (scale, depth, sensitivity, resistance, restoration); (ii) approaches to assessing damage through ecosystem services, taking into account the adaptation of the FEMA-2022 methodology to Ukrainian realities; (iii) use of retrospective geobotanical data and remote sensing to analyze vegetation dynamics and changes. The methodology for assessing military and climatic impacts on natural ecosystems and their restoration using model landfills was developed and tested; the loss of phytodiversity of various taxonomic groups, phytocenoses and biotopes, and synanthropization processes were analyzed. Methodological approaches for assessing the destruction/vulnerability/stability of biotopes and calculating losses were tested. Monitoring of seasonal dynamics, successional changes, and restoration potential in territories affected by military operations (in particular, the lands of the former Kakhovka reservoir, the Chernobyl NP cooling pond, the lower reaches of the Dnieper River, the Svyati Gory National Park) was carried out. The relevance of assessing damage for further restoration and compensation for losses was shown, given the large-scale destruction of natural ecosystems in the combat zone Product Description popup.authors Iryna V.
