The purpose of the study is to reveal the dynamics of natural processes and phenomena on the territory of the reserve, to assess the impact of hostilities and occupation on the state of natural and artificial ecosystems. The research methods used are those generally accepted in meteorology, field geobotany, zoology and dendrology, machine learning, remote sensing, and habitat mapping. Research methods – commonly accepted in meteorology, soil science, field geobotany, zoology and dendrology, machine learning, remote sensing, biotope mapping. The current state of natural complexes and artificially created ecosystems was monitored and assessed, and the impact of military actions and occupation on reserve objects was described. An electronic map of fires was compiled and retrospective monitoring of fires was carried out. Mapping of natural and artificial biotopes in the reserve was performed. Materials from phenological observations of birds were summarised. Separate data on the plants in the arboretum and the animals in the zoo have been collected. The results of field inventory surveys of steppe biotopes within the planned research site "Vesela Dolyna" – land plots transferred to the permanent use of the reserve in the Odesa region – have been summarised. The current state of vegetation in the polygons "Vesela Dolyna" and Tarutinsky Steppe has been determined. The stages of vegetation restoration at the bottom of the drained Kakhovka Reservoir were studied. The results of the research will be used to identify long-term cycles of natural processes in the reserve and to develop measures and management plans for the conservation and restoration of biodiversity in the post-war period.
