The research integrated linguistic and language-teaching approaches and addressed current challenges of foreign language education in the context of digitalization, globalization, and social instability. Within the linguistic strand, the studies deepened theoretical insights into linguocultural and discourse-related features of foreign languages, clarified the mechanisms of meaning construction in different types of discourse, and expanded approaches to the analysis of intercultural communication and linguistic variability. These findings provided a theoretical foundation for developing new models of foreign language communicative competence formation. The linguodidactic strand focused on substantiating the effectiveness of innovative pedagogical technologies, including social and emotional learning and CLIL, as well as digital, gamified, AR- and AI-based tools in foreign language teaching. Methodological models for their implementation were developed, and didactic conditions for fostering foreign language communicative competence among learners were defined. The research results were disseminated through a collective monograph, a chapter in an international monograph, articles indexed in Scopus and Web of Science, Ukrainian peer-reviewed journals, and proceedings of international and national conferences. Active student involvement in research, the work of academic clubs, and the organization of Olympiads and scholarly events demonstrate the sustainable educational and social impact of the Department’s research outcomes.
