Growth performance of heifers showed considerable variability depending on line affiliation, sire heredity, and housing conditions, which was reflected in differences in live weight as well as absolute and average daily gains at different age periods. Under the traditional technology, heifers of most studied lines exhibited higher live weight, particularly after 15 months of age. The influence of line affiliation and paternal heredity on heifer growth intensity was more pronounced under the traditional production system. Significant variation in growth among daughters of different sires was observed, indicating the combined effect of genetic and paratypic factors. The conditional proportion of Holstein blood had a limited effect on growth traits, which was confirmed by one-way analysis of variance. Line affiliation and sire heredity also played a significant role in shaping milk productivity across different lactations, with a stronger genetic effect under the traditional technology. Milk yield increased consistently with advancing age and transition from the first to subsequent lactations. Correlation analysis revealed predominantly weak to moderate positive and negative associations between heifer live weight during the rearing period and milk production traits in the first lactation, indicating that selection based on live weight cannot be recommended as a universal criterion under either production system.
